Dentures
Restore Your Smile and Confidence
Dentures replace multiple or all missing teeth with a removable prosthetic. Modern dentures look natural, fit comfortably, and restore your ability to eat and speak. We offer full dentures, partial dentures, and implant-supported dentures for patients who need comprehensive tooth replacement.
Comprehensive Tooth Replacement
When multiple teeth are missing or severely compromised, dentures offer an affordable, functional solution. Dentures replace all or most of your natural teeth, restoring your ability to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
We offer several denture options. Full dentures replace all teeth on the upper or lower arch (or both). Partial dentures replace several missing teeth while preserving remaining natural teeth. Implant-supported dentures combine implants with dentures for superior stability and retention.
The key to successful dentures is proper fit and custom design. Ill-fitting dentures cause slipping, clicking, and sore spots. We invest time in getting the fit exactly right. We also customize the shade and tooth shape to match your facial features and natural appearance, so your dentures look like your own teeth.
The denture creation process involves multiple appointments. First, we take impressions and make models of your mouth. We then create a wax denture to verify fit, bite, and appearance before fabricating the final prosthetic. This allows us to make adjustments before the final denture is made.
Once your new dentures are delivered, we ensure they fit properly and make any adjustments. You'll have follow-up appointments to refine comfort and bite. Most patients need a few adjustments before achieving optimal comfort—this is completely normal.
Denture care is straightforward. You remove them daily and clean thoroughly with a denture brush and cleanser. At night, soak them in water or denture solution to keep them from drying out (which causes warping). Never use hot water, which can damage the acrylic.
Implant-supported dentures offer significant advantages over traditional dentures. Implants anchor the denture, eliminating slipping and shifting. They feel much more stable and secure, allowing you to eat with confidence. Implant-supported dentures also preserve more bone and provide better long-term outcomes.
One concern patients have is adjustment time. Learning to wear dentures takes practice, and eating is different at first. Most patients adjust well within a few weeks. We provide detailed care instructions and are available if you have questions.
Full vs. Partial vs. Implant-Supported Dentures
Full dentures: Replace all teeth, affordable, no remaining teeth needed. Partial dentures: Replace some teeth, preserve some natural teeth, more affordable than bridges. Implant-supported: Most stable, prevents bone loss, costs more but lasts longer.
Denture Questions Answered
The denture creation process takes 2-4 weeks. First appointment: impressions and models. Second appointment: bite registration and tooth shade selection. Third appointment: wax try-in (verification before final fabrication). Fourth appointment: denture delivery and adjustment. We can often expedite this timeline if needed.
New dentures feel strange initially—you're wearing a prosthetic in your mouth. However, within a few weeks, most patients adapt well. Modern dentures are more comfortable than older styles. Fit is critical to comfort, which is why we invest time in getting it perfect. Some minor adjustments after delivery are typical.
Yes, but there's an adjustment period. Initially, stick to soft foods. Gradually reintroduce harder foods as you become more confident. You may never eat as freely as with natural teeth, but well-fitted dentures allow most foods. Cut food into smaller pieces and chew on both sides. Avoid very sticky or hard foods.
Modern dentures look very natural. We match tooth color, shape, and spacing to your facial features. Dentures should look like your own teeth. However, some denture users are visible when you smile, depending on your lip line. We'll discuss appearance during consultation.
Remove and clean daily with a denture brush and cleanser. Never use regular toothpaste (it's too abrasive). Soak overnight in water or denture solution to keep them moist. Handle carefully—drop them on hard surfaces and they may break. Brush your gums daily even without natural teeth to maintain health.
Dentures typically last 5-10 years before needing replacement or significant repair. Your mouth changes over time—bone deteriorates and gum tissue shrinks. Periodic relines (adjusting the fit) help extend life. Eventually, you'll need new dentures as your mouth changes significantly.
Yes, unfortunately. Without tooth roots stimulating bone, your jawbone gradually deteriorates over time. This is a limitation of traditional dentures. Implant-supported dentures significantly slow bone loss because implants stimulate bone like natural teeth roots.
Full dentures typically cost $1500-$3000 per arch. Partial dentures cost $1200-$2500 depending on complexity. Implant-supported dentures range from $15,000-$30,000 depending on implant quantity. Dental insurance often covers a portion of denture costs. We discuss pricing upfront and offer payment plans.
